Wedding eve!

Tomorrow is the big day. Everyone from out of town is here, and i'm soo excited to see them. Colby spent the morning with my Uncle Clar, and he is already spoiled. He is quite taken with him. I met up with my Aunt Rene, her boys Georgie and Gregory, Aunt Rosemary and Uncle Mike. I haven't seen Aunt Rosemary since I left Newfoundland 7 years ago, but she'll always look the same to me. I haven't seen my Uncle Mike in, well, I can't remember. I was living in Newfoundland at the time, so it would have to be 7 years if not more. Everyone is meeting here (mom's) tonight for a bbq and to have a few drinks with BJ before tomorrow. There's a 14 year old bottle of scotch that's getting opened tonight also, but shhhh it's a secret!

Ebay addicted

Yes, I am addicted to Ebay. I admit it. I hang my head in shame. But not low enough that I can't see the screen! I have now bought 2 items, and find myself still looking there. I bought 6 prs of pewter greyhound earrings for just under 10.00 with shipping, and 25 pewter greyhound pendants for just under 30.00 with shipping. I will of course keep a set for myself and then donate the rest of them to GPAC to raise money. I can't wait to get them!

Walkin' down memory lane

I sent an email to a friend of mine from school in hopes of getting a response, and much to my surprise I received one an hour later! Shannon Wade, now Shannon MacDonald and I have been chatting through email for the past couple of days. She has been married for the past 7 years and has a beautiful daughter named Zoe. She sent me a picture of her and it was like looking at Shannon at that age. The resemblance is remarkable! I hoping to get together with her so the kids can play!

Happy 7th Anniversary to my 2 favorite people. I couldn't scan their wedding picture as my scanner is not big enough, but this one would have been taken about a month or so before their wedding. I have an entire album of pictures of just the four of us, but this is one of my favorites. Happy Anniversary guys!

A fellow Greyhound owner found these bracelets on the internet and ordered them. I will be buying this bracelet as soon as they are here. The price is 6.00 plus shipping (unknown as of yet) and all the proceeds will be going to Greyhound Pets of Atlantic Canada. They are the same style as the "Livestrong" bracelets, but I think that this is a fabulous idea. If anyone is interested in supporting this worthwhile cause, let me know and I can get you one!

Another new movie!

Colby has picked yet another movie to watch repeatedly. He calls it the "airplane movie", we call it Pearl Harbour. He has 2 favorite pieces. The first is when Ben Affeck hits himself in the face with the wine bottle cork, and the second is when the japanese are dropping the bombs. Mom and Dad are building a new piece on their deck. They're framing in where the dog pen used to be. It's going to look amazing when it's done. We're taking Koda on his first greyhound walk today. We're going to Rainbow Haven beach. There should be at least 5 greys there including Koda, maybe more! Of course I'll have my camera!

Well frig!

I just had a huge post typed out and internet explorer closed on me and I lost everything. GRRRR! Here's the news in point form because I'm not typing it all out again:

  • I have acquired another husband, bringing my grand total to 3. Rob, of course, Adam, and now Dave at work.
  • Koda has a growth on the side of his head that we initially thought was a flybite, but after a week of medication and a cone on his head, it's not getting better.
  • Wedding plans are going great, rehearsal is on July 27th.
  • Spoke with Genevieve last night and am getting excited about going to Cape Breton for Adelle's christening, Colby is spending the weekend with Mom and Dave (hubby#3) and his fiancee will be house / dog sitting for us.
  • Getting excited for vacation, and celebrating 7 years of marriage.

I think that's it. Grrr it was a great post too!

This is a bookmark that will be on every table at the wedding. Picture taken by yours truly, of course!

This is by far my most favorite picture I have ever taken of Rebecca. We were just sitting in the grass, laughing and talking and I couldn't help but snap this picture.

I adore this picture of Kira. Her true child like personality just seems to radiate.

I took this picture of Colby and Jessica playing in the lake. They both didn't realize I was there, and were just enjoying playing. Colby truly adores her. Terry, her fiance, may have a fight on his hands!

Poor Jessica didn't get a moment's peace that day with Colby around. He was forever either in her shadow or on her lap. This picture was taken just after he asked for her phone number. What a player I have!

Wonk wonk wonk

I got the pictures back that I took on the weekend of Kira and Rebecca. Once again I amazed myself. hehe. I have a beautiful picture of Rebecca of when she was laughing. Just a very natural smile. I got back a picture of Lynne holding 2 drinks, one in each hand. I also have a very similar picture of Andrea. I'll have to post them both together. I also got back additional pictures of the shower. I got a couple great pictures of Jessica and Colby. I can't wait for him to see them.

Penis!

We had a bachlorette of sorts for Kelly last night. It was me, Lindsay, Kelly, Julie, Jessica (until she went to work) and Missy showed up. We ate lots of junk food, had many, many laughs, and since Kelly is not the "embarrasing" type, to compensate for that, the word of the day was "penis". Lindsay and I bought her a t-shirt that on the front said "Bride to be, see reverse" and on the back it said "Hi, my name is Kelly, I'm getting married in 3 weeks". We didn't let her see the back of the shirt until we went out. She wanted to go to karaoke, so we went to the Oak Mount Station in Bedford. We had a blast. Lindsay and I did a lot of laughing. Everytime we all had a drink, we would raise our glasses and yell "Penis" the same way people would yell "sociable". It was a riot. Kassie and her friend Gabby met us at the bar, as did Rob, BJ and Missy's boyfriend Alex. We had everyone in the bar sign Kelly's shirt. Lindsay took pictures with her camera. As soon as she sends me the pictures I'll post them!

Don't ya want the black ones?

I was cutting Rob's hair yesterday before we went to BJ and Kelly's wedding shower. As all of you who know Rob, his hair is extremly short, I buzz it off every week or so. Colby was sitting on the bed watching very intently when he suddenly pipes up and says "Daddy, don't you want the black ones anymore or do you only want the grey ones?" Needless to say I laughed so hard I cried. We took the car back to Keizer's this morning to have the rough spot buffed out (I picked it up Friday and after Dad looked at it he realized they left a rough spot where they blended the paint and there was overspray all over the windshield). Well, on the way we witnessed what could have been a very bad accident. A woman in an SUV was rear ended pulling into a driveway by a 5tonne cube van which spun the SUV and rolled it. Luckily she ended up back upright and she got out of the car no problem. They took her in an ambulance anyways just to make sure she was alright. I think she was in shock because she wasn't even aware that the truck rolled. It was the scariest thing I've ever seen. All I can picture is the truck in the air. I don't even think it landed on the roof at all. I think it just totally flipped. I enjoyed my Pineapple Crush last night, and am trying to find the time to go back there and buy more so I can have a supply in the fridge. Yummy!

Pineapple Crush and Snowballs!

We decided this afternoon to head to Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage to get out of the house. Little did we know that a Newfoundland Store just opened in Fisherman's Cove, and what did I see and literally squeal with delight when I saw but PINEAPPLE CRUSH! If you have never been to Newfoundland, you are probably thinking "eww", well, nope, it's AMAZING. It's one of those things that you either hate it or you love it. Well, I love it. There is a can right now sitting in my fridge that it just waiting for the right moment to open and enjoy. We also bought Snowballs, coconut filled chocolate covered marshmellow goo that just melts in your mouht and all over your face. I bought a 2L of Crush for Sandra's husband Tim and when I brought it in to her I also brought in the tray of Snowballs! Needless to say, 6 went in the house and 4 came out! I have also been asked to take pictures at a wedding next year. My new quality buddy Dave and his fiancee which ironically is my ex-rez buddy Heather are getting married next year and want me to do their photos! Yeah for me! Dave has also asked me to take pictures of his band, The Bill Kidney Band ( I really hope they choose a new name before they get "rich and famous" as Dave says) which I plan on trying to get together with them tomorrow to discuss what they want. I told them the only thing I want in return is my name mentioned on their album cover (they're in the process of cutting one which is why they want pics) and on their website, BillKidney.com, which will look much prettier when my pics are on there! I was playing around today to see what picture ideas I could find, since I have never taken band pictures, and I found some really neat ideas. We'll see what the guys think! I know 2 of the 4 band members, so I need to get together with all of them to see what they look like together to get some pictures set up. Busy busy busy! I will also be making a new blog of the "good" pictures that I have taken, just in case I get a little bit of recognition from this exposure! I may even come to the point that I will charge for my pictures! Imagine that! I'll keep ya posted on the new blog as it develops.

I love you Tawny!

As you can see, my blog looks different. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to fix the comment thing, so in a desperate act I left a message on Tawny's blog asking her how to fix it. She stated that it was a simple solution of picking another template, and IT WORKED! I was worried that it was something that I wouldn't get fixed and then would have to start another blog. I still want to be able to put the links on the side, things like "Other Blogs I read", the weather girl, and something kinda cool incorporating Avon. Can ya help me Tawny if I give you access to my account? BTW, THANK YOU. I LOVE YOU!

Temporarily under construction

If anyone has tried to post a comment, you will see that it's currently not working. A friend of mine at work is helping me "spruce up" the site, as you can see by the links and the little weather girl. Unfortunately now we are not able to post comments. He assures me he will be able to help me fix it. It should be back up and running by Monday. Unless someone knows computer codes and can tell me how to fix it. The auto-update in the templates is not working. Anyways, I got the Grand Am back yesterday, and after Dad looked at it, it has to go back. Just fitting for this entire experience. There is overspray on the windshield and both headlights, and you can see where the attempted to blend the paint over the back door and failed miserably. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have noticed it unless Dad pointed it out, but now that I can see it, it looks horrible. Needless to say they're not going to like me very much down there.
