Though, according to my brother, in 2 years his hands will be the perfect size to work on the engines of Rob's and BJ's Kawasaki motorcycles, so who knows?! take a peek: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/colbysmom20012001/my_photos
Well, I think I have just set up to be able to have good people like YOU! leave me a message. I'm not sure though. Gonna have to give it a test. There is no way that it was as easy as what I just did.

Well, still a no go on the house. We had 2 showings yesterday. I don't know what people are looking for. We are having showing #19 today. And, to top it all off, the place that we want is not sold, but it is also no longer on the market. Jeannine said that when we sell this one if that one is not back on the market she will call them. Here's hoping.

Well, I have lost count of the showings that we have had on this flippin' house. Today there were 2. Tomorrow there are 2 and possibly 3. There were 2 or 3 last Friday. Lots of people. No takers. Of the ones that were in here today, the first couple loved the house but didn't like where it was (we are next door to an elementary school) the second couple loved the location but didn't like the carpet upstairs. I'm about to lose my mind over this damn house. The longer this one doesn't sell, the more opportunity people will have to buy the one that I want in Sackville. Oh well. No controlling that. Colby decided today that he is going to be a mechanic. He has a red Radio Flyer car and decided today that he needed to fix it. This entailed us holding the car on it's side so he could lay on the floor with a wrench and screwdriver and "fix it". He is now calling it his truck. I guess he is minicking Rob will all the work Rob does to his truck. I have pictures. Just haven't downloaded them yet. Oh, popularity is still growing. (HI KELLY FROM WORK).

Well, the popularity of this site is growing by the day! Hello Brad, Jean, Nicole!! I feel like Ms. Helen from Romper Room with my magic mirror! Well, still no offers on the house. We had 2 showings on Sunday, and one guy even came back yesterday for a second look. The thing that is holding this house back is the partially finished basement, for those who have never been here, we have a room off the laundry room that is Rob's workshop, very basic unfinished room. PERFECT for what he uses it for. And the carpet going up stairs and the carpet in our room is the original carpet that came with the house. It's not BAD, it's just a bit worn. But there are SOO many pluses to the house that people need to just look over the small setbacks. A HUGE plus for this house is the fireplace. REAL fireplace, not these wanna be propane ones. And we doubled the cabinets in the kitchen. Jeannine took pics of the fireplace and kitchen that should hopefully be posted to MLS very soon. I have been told that the link to the house doesn't work. Well, if you really want to see it, go to MLS.CA, and seach all the areas that have Halifax in it. (I'm still not sure which one we're under). When you do to specifics for the search, look for 3 bedrooms, choose a price range from 100,000 - 150.000 and specify that you are looking for a fireplace. We're one of the first 6-8 ones on the page. Mountain Maple. We have 2 more showings tonight. I'm getting really frusterated. Which I shouldn't as today is only Day 7 on the market. We have had SOO many showings. I think tonight makes 10 or 11. Keep your fingers crossed!

Well, I am trying to set this up so that people can post messages on this. I am trying haloscan, but I can't understand the directions. This may take longer than I thought. Where is Tawny when I need her!? Oh, we have now had a showing everyday on the house since Monday. We even had on yesterday when we were out and didn't know it! We have 2 more today. For the love of god, there have been enough people through here, someone has to buy it!

Well, I found out last night that another person is actually reading this! (HI DONNA) I really have to start updating the pictures. I am currently at my parent's house and Colby is just going nuts. I am going to a wake this afternoon and a funeral tomorrow. Rob's Aunt Millie died Wednesday night. Rob is a pallbearer. It should be a mixed emotions day. Luckily I have the day off work so I can be there. We have had the house on the market since Monday morning and so far we have had a showing everyday. There is a showing on the house in 10 minutes, then I will be anxiously awaiting the call from Jeannine to find out how it went. We went to see a trailer .. oops, sorry "mini home" yesterday in Springfield Estates by my brother. Well, it's not what I expected. I think the problem is that we have seen a "mini home" that we are absoutely in love with, that currently has a conditional offer on it. This has 2 bedrooms and an office, a full bathroom in the front by the bedroom (which would be Colby's room) and in the master bedroom (which is HUGE) there is a full ensuite. This includes a double soaker tub (Jacuzzi without the jets *drool*, full vanity, toilet and stand up shower. IN A TRAILER! It also has 2 bay windows and forced air heating. My fear is that it is going to sell before we sell ours. This is the first any only that I have ever seen like this. And it's priced to sell. It's been on the market for 6 months. Here's hoping my house sells today! Here's the link and it should actually work: http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.aspx?vd=&SearchURL=%3fMode%3d0%26Page%3d1%26vs%3d1%26rlt%3d%26cp%3d%26pt%3d0%26mp%3d50000-70000-0%26mrt%3d-1-0-0%26Beds%3d3-3%26Baths%3d0-0%26f%3d%26ft%3dall%26o%3dA%26of%3d1%26ps%3d10%26aid%3d1199%26MapURL%3d%253fAreaID%253d1179&PropertyID=2100469 Here is the link to MY house. http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.aspx?vd=&SearchURL=%3fMode%3d0%26Page%3d1%26vs%3d1%26rlt%3d%26cp%3d%26pt%3d0%26mp%3d100000-150000-0%26mrt%3d-1-0-0%26Beds%3d3-3%26Baths%3d1-0%26f%3d1%26ft%3dall%26o%3dA%26of%3d1%26ps%3d10%26aid%3d1201%252c1202%252c6316%252c6315%26MapURL%3d%253fAreaID%253d1179&PropertyID=2352154 Well, Colby is now jumping on Dad and I should go rescue him. Or watch, I haven't decided.

Well, it has been an interesting week. First of all, I went to see Passion of the Christ with my girlfriend Sandra. It is not a movie that is easily described. I am still unsure as to all of it. It is very well produced and written and portrayed, which the more I think about it, is actually part of the problem. It is so graphic, more graphic than any production I have ever seen or heard about. And it is in subtitles, which I did not know. It's distracting at first to try to watch & read at the same time, but 1/3 of the way through it is not an issue as there is no more dialect. It is such an emotional movie. I am not a church goer by any means, but when the movie was done, I was left in turmoil. It's the type of movie that in one way, makes you want to go running back to church, and in the other, makes you not want to ever step foot in a church again. The next time I do go to church, I am sure I am going to bawl during the communion. You have to see the movie to understand. I will never watch the movie again, but I will never have to as I will never forget it. Anyways. Mom and Dad came in yesterday and bought sunglasses for all the kids. (Colby and the twins) Well, Colby became Elton John. I still don't know how to do the links, but I did add them to my picture thingy for all to see (http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/colbysmom20012001/my_photos). This link actually does work. I have actually made 2 new albums. One with pictures from yesterday, and one with pictures of Colby taken over the past couple of months. If anyone actually reads this besides Jen (HI JEN) you will see a pencil composite of Colby. That was done by BJ for Colby's birthday. I will be adding more albums as I get time. I have lots of pictures, just not a lot of them scanned. I also plan to scan my wedding pictures and put on there. I have been saying this since we got married. Maybe by our 10th I will actually have it done. Only 4 more years to go!

Sunday, March 07, 2004

Well, what a crazy week for me. We decided on Thursday that we are going to see the house. It's a big decision but one that we both agree with. We have decided that we are not going to have any more children, and with that decision we do not need this big house. All our money is going in to keeping this house going with no room to spend. We are going to move back to a "mini home", trailer to me, so that we can save money to either build the house of our dreams, or stay there and look into buying a little cottage on the water somewhere. The big incentive for us is that it looks like we will be profiting approximately 25,000 when we sell this place. The market has skyrocketed and we will be listing it for 30, 000 more than what we bought it for. Our realtor, who happens to be practically a member of the family (Colby's Gramma Jeannine) feels confident that we should get most of this. We will be paying 1/2 of what we pay now in mortgage and utilities, and with the surplus of money will be completely debt free. Who wouldn't? I also have a very traumatic morning on Friday. Colby was up most of the night on Thursday, and because of that he ended up sleeping in the bed with me and we didn't get up until 10. We didn't have the twins that day so we went for groceries. When we got to the parking lot of the superstore, I was so distracted in making sure I had my wallet (plus not to mention was still very tired) I hit the power locks and got out to let Colby out of the backseat. Except, when the door closed and all doors were locked, I realized that I left MY KEYS IN THE IGNITION! Luckily I had my cell phone in my pocket. 1 call to GM Roadside Assistance, (and thank god she was patient and understood because at that point I was panicking), and less than 10 minutes later, a tow truck showed up and slim jimmed the door. Of course, by the time he got there, Colby was freaking because he couldn't understand why I was outside the car crying and not opening the door. I felt like the most horrible mother in the world. And to top it all off, when the door was opened and I took him out of his seat, he took my face in his hands and said "Don't cry mommy, it's Ok.". I'm crying now even as I type this. What an amazing kid I have.

Well, I had an interesting time trying to set up the link for my pictures. I cheated and it works. I will be keeping the site updated with pictures so that they can be seen. I am enjoying an afternoon to myself. Colby is spending the afternoon with Nicole and the twins so I can get caught up on my typing. I'm almost done. It's feast or famine with this typing. But that's good. It's hard to believe I have been doing this for a year. Colby is going to a birthday party tomorrow. It's for Kendell's little sister. Kendall was born the day before Colby. All I have heard for the last couple of days is, "Going to Kendell's house on Sunday mommy, lets' go now". It should be exciting. I must admit, it's strange without him here. I was actually feeling guilty on leaving him at Nicole's so I could come home and type. Even though I spend all day with him, I still feel guilty on days like this when I am home and he's not. I feel like I'm pawning him off. But, I can't do everything. Sometimes I need to remind myself of that. I'm going to treat myself and go take a bath before I go to work.

now I'm frusterated. This link stuff is not working. Gonna try this another way. If this works, try this url. http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/colbysmom20012001/my_photos

Monday, February 23, 2004

Well, it's Monday, February 23. I am back to work tonight (3:30-12:00) I will be getting my pictures back on Wednesday of this week of the blizzard. I can't wait to see them. I finished working on a crochet baby sweater yesterday, with the help of Jean to put the zipper in. It is a great sense of accomplishment to know that I made this. It's pale yellow and zips up the back all the way up the hood. I originally made it because the pattern did not have a picture and I wanted to know what it looked like. I only crochet at work to give me something to do. That is one of the advantages of working in a call centre. We are going to send it to Carolyn and Steven, cousins of Rob's in Ontario. I'm taking it to work tonight to show off and then hopefully sending it by the end of the week. Colby is now carrying around his Mr. Murphy. He loves a show that comes on CBC in the morning called Poko. This is a show that is produced by Salter Street Productions, which is based in Halifax. Rob has a curious George that his mother made him, that is now Mr. Murphy, which is Poko's stuffed monkey. He won't go to bed without it. He also has a red Austin Mini dinky that is his "flying car" from Harry Potter. He is now quoting lines from the movie on a regular basis. I was cleaning the door of the playroom with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (yes, they work, but kinda took the paint off the door, when you rub GENTLY as the package instructs, the paint is not removed, I am going to have to keep a stock of them in the house at all times), anyways... Colby was in the playroom with a crayon, writing on the wall (which he is allowed, the room is unfinished so he can) and he was slowly saying, Do You Know Anything About The Chamber Of Secrets", (in the movie, Harry is writing in a diary to Tom Riddle and says the same thing). My kid is just to damn smart. He also has a tendency when something frusterates him to say "For fuck sake" (thanks to his dad slipping it ONCE over a month ago). Still trying to break that one. I also think we may be on the verge of potty training. He told me again at Jean's last night that he wanted to go pee. But by the time we went to the bathroom he had already peed in his pull up. I was hoping that this toilet training thing would be done in a day but I'm quickly realizing that it's not. Oh well, it could be worse. ¶ 6:07 AM

Saturday, February 21, 2004

Well, this is easier to look at. I hated the big letters on the other one. It is now February 21, 2004, and we are almost all shovelled out. I have many pictures to post, when I figure out how to do it. I'm told I have to create a website to post them to first, so we'll see how that goes. We had almost 100cm of snow fall in less than 24 hours. I have never seen that much so at one point. I was just about ready to lose my mind when I finally saw the plow come down my street. Then, the plow got stuck and we had to wait for another plow to come and pull that one out. And I am not talking little 4x4 truck. This was one of the big honkin' plows. They ended up pushing all the snow to the end of the street and leaving it in a big pile. It is about 10 feet shy of the top of a light pole, which explains how much snow there actually is. The city of Halifax got special permission from Ottawa to dump the snow in the harbour. Well, there goes the Harbour Clean Up so far! Colby is madly obsessed with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. If I have seen the movie once, I have seen it at least 100 times. I bought a Harry Potter poster and calendar for his room. I took the calendar apart and pinned the pictures up around his room. He can name every character on the walls. He also has a red dinky that is his "Flying Car" that he loves. It is not unusual to see him playing with it and hear him say "By the way Harry, Happy Birthday". If you've seen the movie you'll understand. He also does a great impression of snake language, and can quote almost 1/2 the movie line for line. And this kid is only 2.
