Confirmation of why I moved back from Newfoundland

These are web cam pictures that I just took off The Weather Network. Needless to say, I'll be wearing a light jacket and sunglasses when I go out today, and will be thinking of all my friends and family in Newfoundland who will be wearing heavy winter jackets and firing up snowblowers and shovels. I promise not to laugh too loud.

33 weeks and growing

Tomorrow is Week 33. I have a maximum of 8 weeks left pregnant. I can't believe how quick this time has flown. I really have a feeling that I will not make it to the end this time. I am having Braxton Hicks on a daily basis, and the only way to stop them is to sit down. So, grocery shopping is out for me, as it's too much walking. I'm spending another night tonight at the Power B&B as Rob is working tonight again. I'm sitting here at work and it's soo slow here it's almost painful. I just want to go home!

Extra services available at Powers B&B

I joke with Dad that on the nights that I come to spend the night when they have Colby that "I need to reserve by room at the Power B&B". I spend the night when Colby does so that way if he's not up when dad has to drive mom to work he can just keep sleeping. So, I spent the night last night and Dad said that he'd come to Dartmouth with me to pick up my Avon order, since I knew the boxes would be heavy and it's hard to carry big boxes. So, we get out to the car, and I throw my bag and clothes in the truck. I dropped what I thought was my watch also in the truck and thought, "Oh well, I'll get it later" as I closed the trunk. Well, as I'm sure you can guess, it wasn't my watch but my keys. And, of COURSE it's the night I remember to lock all the doors. So, I looked at dad and said "Still got your slim jim?" (For those that don't know, dad is a retired bodyman). And off he goes to the shed and comes back with a home made slim jim. Well, dad's a little rustier than he thought and couldn't get the door opened with the slim jim. The one thing you must remember is that Dad hasn't worked on cars in years, and when he used this slim jim there were no power locks, like the Grand Am has. So, he went "old school". Out comes the cut clothes hanger. And, low and behold, "pop" goes the lock! I joked "I don't remember seeing this additional service available in the brochure for the B&B!" Only in Woodbine.

His name is......

Yesterday was Jean's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAMMA! Rob bought her a vase and 3 crystal flowers (I think roses but I'm not sure). He also bought her 2 cards, one from him and I and one from the boys. He let Colby sign his name and he put the baby's name on there also. So, yes, we have decided on a name and started to tell people it. And his name is

He's going to school in September!

I called the school that I attempted to enroll Colby in for a pilot project that is taking 18 4 year olds a year earlier then when they would normally start school due to the age cut off. (The age cut off in NS is you have to be 5 by October 1 so Colby missed it by 1 month and 3 days). Only certain schools in the area are offering this and COLBY IS IN! The school that he is registered in, which is also the school he will be going to when he goes to kindergarden advised me today that he is in the program for September. So, he will be going to school Monday to Friday, 9 - 2:30. I have to get him there and back as there is no bus for this program, and I will have to find out if there is a lunch program or if I have to bring him home for lunch. I still have to get my head around the fact that he will be gone all day. Not that I will be bored mind you, it will give me some great time with the baby. But still! HE'S GOING TO SCHOOL! MY LITTLE BOY IS GROWING UP!

Just for Kellie Ann

Colby wanted to talk to Kellie Ann last night. Every time we make cookies (which is every weekend) he says to me "Mommy, remember when Kellie and I made cookies" which is something she did with him when she was visiting us in November. He had the greatest chat with her and she mentioned that she reads this from work everyday and I need to blog more. She also mentioned that I needed an updated pregnancy picture, which I have been meaning to do.

The Big 3-0 -- again

Today is week 30. That means, at most I will be pregnant for another 11 weeks. If I go a week overdue I have a c-section booked for May 18th at 9am. And we still don't have a name. But I must admit I am having fun picking up a few things along the way. Like these.

Nicole and the girls were here for a while today after preschool and we thought it would be fun to paint with finger paint. So, I dared Nicole to do her hand and this is the end result.

Needless to say we all had fun.

I am winding towards the end of my vacation (I took the week off work) and I must admit I feel much more rested and relaxed. My house is not as clean as I hoped it would be, but let's face it, it never is. My house will never be as clean as my mom's (example: Colby pulled out mom's couch tonight to find his dinky and there were NO DUST BUNNIES. Is this humanly possible??)
