Finally updated pictures

I have been horribly slack with getting pictures scanned and posted. Although, in defense, I have been better than some lately (you know who you are) that have been neglecting their blogs all together!! Here is all the significant pics from Halloween until now. The pictures of Kelly we actually took today.

Freakin' Snow!

We are in the middle of a blizzard warning, though you would never know it from the weather today. It was absoutely beautiful out. Snow is starting to fall now and it's just after 11PM. It should be interesting to see how much is down when we get up. Rob and I just finished redecorating the bedroom as we received a new Bed In A Bag from his parents. It is a beautiful black and white, and will work really well with the black and white pictures we have. Mom and I went to see Phantom of the Opera today at the Oxford theatre. I'm glad it was showing there as it is such a beautiful theatre. It was an amazing movie. Mom loved it. Never did hear from Adam and Genevieve. I was under the impression that they were coming down here for Christmas, but I know she hasn't been feeling the best so travelling may not have been her forte. I'm going to have to try to touch base with them tomorrow as I'm off work, unless they read this first. If so, CALL ME!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all of you. I hope your Christmas was as exciting and enjoyable as ours has been. We woke up at 8:30 and Colby was soo excited! He was extremly excited to see that Santa ate some of the cookie that was left out for him and drank all his milk! Mom and Dad came over to watch him upwrap his presents. He absoutely loved it! It was definately the best Christmas I can remember. Santa is alive and well again in our hearts through Colby. It was topped when he opened his phone. He still hasn't put it down, and has been calling people on it all day! Mom and Dad stayed for breakfast and then we went over to Grammas, where Nicole and Great Nannie were. We stayed there for a little while for him to open his stocking that Santa left there and to play with his new remote control cars. Poppa even called from the ship while we were there and Colby got to talk to him and wish him Merry Christmas. From there we went to Gramma Jeannine's to open even more presents. Jeannine's son Jason (Adam's older brother) broke the news that he and his long time girlfriend Andrea ae getting married on May 15th on an Alaskan cruise. I told Adam that, as his wife, he should take me with him as his date for the wedding. I told him that you will never get a better wife than me, because I will help him find women to cheat on me with and will encourage him to do so! I'm still working on him for that one. From there, we went to pick up Kassie and Anthony and bring them out to mom's for her big dinner. We had Christmas yet again at her house, but by this time I think Colby was Christmas'ed out and didn't really show a lot of interest in opening gifts. Dinner was amazing, as usual, with turkey, stuffing, veggies, greens (any true newfoundlander will know what this is), salt beef, cabbage and the best gravy in the world. This was topped off with coffee and a choice of blueberry or strawberry-rhubarb pie, lemon pie, partidge berry loaf or fruitcake. I am soo stuffed. And to think, we'll do it all over again next week for New Years! Dad got his digital camera, and we got a webcam. We will have that set up shortly and look forward to chatting with it!

I hate guessing games

Scrooge, you honk. I hate guessing games. 6 more sleeps! Only 3 more working days and then I'm off for 4 days!!! I am off tomorrow and Colby and I will be venturing out to the mall to get his picture taken with Santa. We went to Alexander and Madeline's birthday party today. I took 2 rolls of pictures. Sandra had a cake for them that had their picture on it. So, you could literally eat the face right off your kid!

Happy Birthday to the Love of my Life

Today is Rob's birthday. It is now the 10th birthday that I have had the fortune of sharing with him. He is off today and for the rest of the weekend. He certainly deserves it. Happy birthday honey.

T'is the Season to Give!

I took Colby to our kids staff christmas party on the weekend. Unbeknownst to me, Colby wanted Santa to bring him a phone. I did not know this, and Santa brought him a remote control car. He told me on the way to the party that Santa was bringing him a phone, and was very dissapointed when he didn't. Needless to say I felt like a big pile of poop. So, when he and I were in the Superstore today, I stopped at an Aliant kiosk ( I am not even an Aliant customer) I asked them if they had any damaged or defective phones that they could sell me. I explained to the girl that my 3 year old son wanted a silver flip phone like Poppy's from Santa. Her and her supervisor tore the kiosk apart looking for a demo that they had, and low and behold they freakin' found one! Colby did not see it as he was mesmorized by all the phones there, and the supervisor slipped it in my pocket so he wouldn't see! When I asked her how much, she said that it was free! I cried all the way out of the Superstore, and again at work when I told Sandra about it. Those women just don't realize what an amazing gift they have given me. Colby will now get a silver flip phone (it is a demo Samsung phone, the one with the panda on the screensaver) and he will truly believe that Santa brought it for him because that is all he wanted! Such a small gesture on their part, and a HUGE impact on Colby. *sniff*. Makes me cry again just thinking how excited he is going to be on Christmas. And, yeah for me, I have Christmas off! I was initially scheduled to work 3 - 11:30 on December 25th. But, one of the girls wanted to work for the extra money, so I more than willing gave her mine! That means, I am off December, 24, 25, 26, 27!! 4 days off! Better than a vacation!

Girls Night!

I am just sitting here waiting for Sandra, Alisha, Cindy and Michelle to come over. We decided a couple weeks ago that we would have a Girls Night, no kids, no men, just us and maybe a bottle or two of wine. I have been looking forward to this all week. Rob and Colby just left to go see Sponge Bob Square Pants the movie. I am sitting here in our new computer chair (thanks Dad) and it's the MOST COMFORTABLE chair I have ever sat in. Not the prettiest to look at, but in the computer room, who cares? (No dad, you can't have it back now.) I am all done Christams shopping with the exception of 2 gifts. Colby has decided that he wants Santa to bring him a phone. He is obsessed with phones. Guess Santa has to go out and get him a phone. That wasn't on the list. We're going to Convergy's Party for the Kids tomorrow. A bunch of us are going to take the kids to McD's first for lunch and then go to the party. Should be interesting to see how he reacts to Santa this year. He certainly knows who Santa is and that Santa is bringing gifts. Ohh, there's Sandra! Girls night here we go!!!! (BTW, ONLY 14 MORE SLEEPS!)

Thursday, December 02, 2004

23 MORE SLEEPS!!!!! Yes, I am a little excited. We are putting the tree up Sunday and all the house decorations before I go to work. We wrote our Letter to Santa yesterday. Colby is really into the "Santa thing" this year. I can't wait. We are also going to see the Kids CBC tour tomorrow with Sandra and the twins. We're taking the car to West End Mall and then taking the bus to the Cohn as I know that there will be no parking. It's going to be soo fun! And, did I mention yet that 23 MORE SLEEPS!!!!!

Happy 10 years to Us!

Today, Rob and I have been together 10 years. I can't believe it. It was November 25, 2004 that we decided that we wanted our "casual dating" to be something more. It certainly doesn't feel like 1o years. It's amazing what we have accomplished in those 10 years. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I found a picture of us from that time what I felt I needed to post. Man, we look so young! And Rob's hair is all black!

Anonymous is not anonymous anymore

Well, don't I just feel like a shit that jumped the gun. I had a call on my phone last night from a good friend of mine in NB that we missed, so I called her back this morning. It seems that SHE is anonymous, who left the first message. It was a harmless message commenting on the length of my blogs lately. I laughed. Now, as I look at it from her writing it, that makes sense. She said that it just seems like my blogs are getting longer and longer. Nothing like a case of a comment being misintrepreted and blown out of porportion. Though, I must admit, I'm kind of dissapointed that it wasn't "A" after all. That could have been fun! I think my past is coming back to haunt me in many ways. There is a guy at work that just got promoted to supervisor. I have never noticed him before this week. If he had long, pin staight blonde hair he would remind me of someone I used to know. He has the eye color and smile. It's kind of freaky, seeing I haven't seen the guy that I used to know in years, and suddenly I feel like I'm working with his twin. If the guy I know wasn't an only child, I would be convinced they were brothers!

Little bothered

There was a comment left on my blog anonymously that I must admit, is very bothersome. As I sit here and read my last blog, it can be intrepreted in many ways. I admit, I was tired when I wrote that. There is nothing vendictive or mean about it, or it was not intended to be. I have a feeling I know who left the message, and I must admit I do not like the fact that whoever it was did not leave their name. Everyone loves "gossip from highschool", well maybe not everyone but I do. I like to hear what has happened to people. If the two people mentioned in my blog, and if you don't know me well then you really don't know who I'm talking about which is why it does not include names, end up together, well, hey, I'm happy that they found happiness. I just thought it was interesting how present life and criss-cross with past life experiences. I toyed with the idea of removing it from my blog all together, but you know what, dammit, it's MY blog and I'm allowed to comment on what I like. If ya don't like it, well, there's a red X in the top right hand corner of your screen, there's no one stopping you from pressing it! Though, now that I have taken a moment before writing more, I do enjoy comments, and would really appreciate if people are going to post, please tell me who you are. I feel that I have "touched a nerve" with someone, and if ya don't like it or don't agree, feel free to tell me. But at least give me the courtesy of knowing who I've pissed off.

Birthdays, Fish and Icy Squares

First and foremost, my beautiful neices celebrated their 4th birthday yesterday, November 17th. Happy birthday Kira and Rebecca. And to their mom too, since she had the day first! Happy birthday Nicole! We got our power back Monday night at 11:35pm. I was just leaving work, preparing for another cold night in the house when Rob called and said that the power was back. I could have cried. I ended up bringing the fish to Ruffins, a pet store in a mall close to here that is owned by a friend of Kassie's, Kyle. He graciously combined 2 of his tanks to give me one for my fish until the power came back. I'm happy to report that the fish are all alive, warm and well. We went and got them back yesterday. I found the most amazing Dollar Store today in Dartmouth. It is on the #7 highway (which incidently meant NOTHING to me until someone told me that Main Street turns into the #7). It is the biggest Dollar store I have seen, and believe me I have been in many of them. I bought hat and scarf sets for Colby for 1.00 each and water proof mittens. I bought 4 hat and scarf sets and 6 pairs of mittens. I also bought the same for Sandra's twins. You can never have enough mitts, scarves and hats! I also found Icy Squares, which of course I had to buy. It's amazing how just a little thing can have soo many memories attached. Icy Squares instantly remind me of Christmas shopping with Tawny in high school. We would spent hours and come home with nothing more than empty Icy Square wrappers. Our christmas gifts to each other would almost include these silly little chocolates. I remember us being at Zellers for when it opened for something or another, and watching people slide under the rolling gate to get in to get that "great deal". The funny things you remember. I guess that this high school thinking was initially triggered by a little gossip I heard, followed shortly by the chocolate. Rob is still in contact with a specific person from his past, who I will refer to as A. Well, A told Rob a little while ago (he just remembered to tell me the other day) that, now as she is single again after a very short marriage, has been socially seeing someone from my past, who we will call B. I am assuming since B was married a few years ago that that union has also dissolved. It's interesting how life takes twists and turns. I hope for A's sake that B's marriage is dissolved. That can become a very tricky situation if it's not. The only reason I mention this is that infidelity is one of the main reasons that my relationship with B dissolved, (I'm embarrased now looking back that this happened a number of times with him and I). Though, to be fair to him, our past together was many, many moons ago and one would hope that he has grown and matured as the rest of us did. I have no way of knowing why that marriage didn't work. I must admit, it does make me chuckle though. A has admitted to me and to Rob that she will "always have a place in her heart reserved for him" (verbatim here folks), and now she is seeing socially, casually I would assume, someone who was part of my life many years ago. It's just funny how life plays out, don't ya think? But hey, if they're happy, more power to them. Even if it was a date or two for them, even if they never go out again, I'm glad that A and B are moving on and I hope that they can find happiness again, who knows, maybe with each other, maybe not. It's just funny how 2 people who went to school together, went separate ways, have now crossed paths again. I'm glad for them both. AND YES, TO THE PERSON WHO LEFT THE COMMENT, I HAVE EDITED THIS TO CLARIFY MY POINT IN BRINGING THIS UP.

Holy S**T It's Cold!

It's Monday morning and I am at dad's thawing out. We lost the power yesterday at lunch time and as of 8:55 am Monday morning it's STILL not back. Colby spent the night last night with mom and dad but we decided to stay home in case the power came back on. That was a HUGE mistake this morning. Last night was fine as we pulled the sleeping bag out and put it on the bed. According to Nova Scotia Power, it may be DAYS before we get our power back. We seem to be the only area in Sackville effected as most other places, like here at Dad's, is back on. They only lost their power for a couple of hours. We had the Coleman Lantern on last night for a while to light up the house, but you can only leave that on for so long inside. Burnside Industrial Park is pretty much shut down due to 4 main transformer stations collapsing under the weight of the snow, but of course Convergys is still open! They will never close as they have back up generators. But, you would think generators will only last for so long. Highfield Park, where the call centre is located, is still shut down. There are also 2 main transformers in Sackville that collapsed, which is why I am still without power. The worst thing about it is that I have a tankful of tropical fish that don't like the cold and are to be in a tank with water anywhere from 78 -82 degrees. When we left the house, the tank was at 60 and dropping. I'm afraid we're going to lose them if the power doesn't come back, but it may stress them out even more if I take them out of there. fsaqdfnoweiruslnvaksjfboiwqeurwolfmajksghbqoew. (you can just imagine what that translates to!) FREAKIN' SNOW!

Wasn't that a party!

We had his party today. He had a blast. Almost everyone showed up. We rented a hall and the kids went NUTS playing with balloons. Colby was a little overwhelmed when it came to opening his presents as all the other kids were pretty much climbing over him to "help" him unwrap. I think there were 3 rolls of film taken. I looked up and Adam had my camera going. Of course I'm getting them all developed tomorrow and we'll see how they are. At this point we're all exhausted. More details to come when I'm not so tired.

Happy 3rd Birthday Colby

I can't believe my little boy turned 3 today! I was looking at his first album and my heart just swells with pride, seeing how my little baby is growing up. It seems like just yesterday, not 3 years ago I was just meeting the other man in my life who holds my heart. We were on the go all day. We went and had lunch with Gramma Jeannine, who took us to Jungle Jim's. As we were walking out of her office, she started to go towards her car, and I reminded her that we would need a carseat for Colby. No worries, she said. She kept the one I loaned her IN HER CAR! Off we went in her car to a fabulous lunch. She called ahead and told the girls that it was his birthday, and they came out with a piece of cake with a sparkler in it and sang happy birthday to him! He loved it and she loves him very much. She bought him a great new outfit and a new bedtime book to read. I had my camera at Jungle Jim's and I should have the pictures back tomorrow. From there we went over to get Kassie and went to see Gramma and Grandpa. Grandpa filled him up with chocolate and we brought in new pictures for their wall. Gramma is still very sick, but she is getting better. She has pnemonia. From there we went to Nanny's, who HAD to buy him something, so she bought him new winter boots with Bob the Builder and Poppy bought him a new Toronto Maple Leafs touque and gloves. From there we went to Pets Unlimited where Anthony and Kass bought him 6 new fish for his tank. All he keeps talking about is his birthday party, and while we were waiting for the fish, he was inviting complete strangers to the party! We also received many calls today, Lindsay, BJ and Kelly ( who may not make it this weekend as Kelly is sick) and cards from my grandmother and Aunt Donna in Newfoundland. He also received an e-card from the women at Colby Physioclinic. My little boy is very loved!

This Isn't Shark Tale!

We went to our second movie today. It was Shall We Dance. I loved it. Lindsay loved it. Colby.. well, Colby got bored. Typical male. As the movie started, he looked at me with a funny look and said, "Mommy, that's not Shark Tale!". I absoutely am now in love with Richard Gere. Again. For those who have seen it, the escalator scene killed me. The merger has finally gone through with ATT Wireless and Cingular wireless, making Cingular the single largest wireless company in the US. And we now have Cingular ID's. Guess it's Cingular wireless for us after all!

Tall, Dark and Yummy!

This has been quite the week. This is the first time that I have to sit and update. The week started last Sunday when we had Rob's grandmother over for supper. It was her first time in our new house. I admit, I am ashamed of this as she only lives in Dartmouth. Rob and I have made a vow to bring her over more often. Colby adores her, and I think it is very important for him to know and have memories of his great grandmother for when he's older. And she adores him. And she's soo funny. She is an amazing lady and I'm proud to be able to call her Nan. On either Tuesday or Wednesday morning, ( I admit I don't remember which) I get a call from ADT Security. Rob's cousin Lynn and her family live just up the road from us and put us as a contact for her security system. They called stating that there was an alarm going off at Lynn's house and they could not get an answer at the house. For, of course, I asked him, Well, do I need to go down? His response. "I can't tell you that.". So I asked him what I needed to do. He replied, rather curtly, " I can't tell you that either". So, out of frusteration I asked him, "Well, why did you call me then?" He said, "There's another person on the contact list, I"ll call them". I said no, I only live 5 minutes away, I"ll go down. So, in a panic, Colby and I are still in our jammies, we go down to wait for the cops. I didn't have Lynn's cell number on me, but I did remember when they first moved her that Don gave me her cell number and I wrote it on the inside back cover of a book I was reading. So, since the house looked secure, (Which is a good thing, because the most I would have been able to do if there was a burglar was to scare him with my wonderful bed-head haird0) I ran home and ripped apart my bookshelf looking for the book. I found it, called Lynn, who was at Sobey's and she came right home. I went in the house with her, (her poor cats were beside themselves as the alarm at this point would have been going for approximately 30 minutes) the cop showed up. Well, let me tell you, I would have set the alarm again if I knew this man would come back! He was AMAZING. There is something about tall, dark, handsome AND in uniform! YUM! Right Lynn?! We have also had a death in the family. We set up a fishtank for Colby a couple months ago and most of the fish died. We initially couldn't figure out why. I had the water tested at a pet store and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. We were down to 2 fish. There was a pure white fish that Colby has called Kevin since we had it. I have no idea where the name Kevin came from. He was doing the same thing that all the other fish did (looked like he was gasping for air) and I found out that it was amonia poisoning. Kassie got me something to balance the amonia and it looked like he was coming around. Then he died. So, we decided to completly empty the tank (we have silicia sand on the bottom that was too fine so we changed to a bigger grain). We have 2 fish left, a jewel fish and an algae eater. The jewel has survived everything so far. We had him and the algae eater in a bucket while we cleaned the tank. I walked up to Rob at one point, and after looking in the bucket I asked him, "Did you put the fish in the tank?" (We were waiting for the sand to settle as it was pretty cloudy. THE DAMN FISH JUMPED OUT OF THE BUCKET AND WAS ON THE FLOOR! It survived all the water stuff that killed all the other fish, and then attempts suiside! We put him back in the bucket and he started swimming around again. He's fine now. We put a cover over the opening on the top of the tank last night. I guess you could say he's on suiside watch. Damn fish. Oh, and most exciting of all, we're going to see his first concert! Colby loves CBC Kids in the mornings, and there is a host that comes on between shows who's name is Patty. He LOVES her. She is on tour with CBC and will be coming to Halifax on December 3rd. The tickets were 3.00 each. They went on sale yesterday at the Rebecca Cohn and the box office opened at 12. I got through the line at 12:19 and the entire centre section of the Cohn was SOLD OUT at that point. We are sitting on the right side, 9 rows up from the bottom. There will be 5 of us going. Colby and I, my girlfriend Sandra, and her twins, Alexander and Madeline. The concert is Patty and Clifford, the Big Red Dog, who Colby also loves. I think I'm more excited than he is!

First movie!

Well, it has been a very busy week. I met up with my long time friend Tawny last Friday, and we went to lunch. As teenagers, we spent many lunches and early evenings at Ponderosa, enjoying the salad bar. We went there for lunch and it was really great to catch up. We promised to meet up on Monday before she went home, but with Monday being the holiday, Rob home in the morning and me working, it just didn't work out. She was in town for the weekend for her sister Jody's wedding, so I know she was very busy with getting everything in. I'm just glad we got to spend a couple hours together to catch up. I have a wedding present here for her that I didn't want to send through the mail, so it looks like she may be getting it for her first anniversary at this rate as I forgot to bring it when we went to lunch. I also took Colby to see his first movie. We went to see Shark Tale with Lindsay and Cody. It is a program called Reel Babies at Empire Theatres, with the focus on care givers and kids. It had a change table set up, microwave for bottle warming, and toys and blankets on the floor. He loved it! He laughed like crazy. I am going to wait to see what the movie is for next week. It is on every second Wednesday, and coincidently, it is the Wednesday that I'm off. I am in the middle of planning his birthday party. It should be quite the crowd. Details are almost finalized.

You're the OTHER Adam

Well, Rob and I decided on Sunday, since we were both off, to make a "good" supper. Baked ham and scallopped potatoes. It's a good thing we did, as the phone rang at 5:10 and it was Adam Read in town for the weekend. It just happens to be one of his favorite meals. So, he appears for supper, and Colby initially was shy. Well this lasted for all of 2 minutes. Then, when he figured out it was Adam, he promptly asked, "Where is your computer?" (Adam Hennigar, AKA Uncle Adam, brought his laptop last time he came to the house). We explained to Colby that this was the OTHER Adam, and he spent the rest of the night calling him the "Other Adam". I think Adam was quite amazed at how clearly he talks. It has been almost a year since he has seen him. I am taking Colby to get his portraits done on Thursday. Thursday is going to be a very busy day. I think Rob and Adam are going out in the morning, I am meeting up with Tawny for lunch as she will be in town for her sister's wedding, and then to get Colby's portraits done at 3. Of course I am buying the disk and of COURSE they will be on the site later that night!

Colby and Rob are on their way from Amherst. Rob decided to go up yesterday at lunch time to spend the night, get in a round of golf this morning (which reportedly did not go so well) and then come home. I, for the first time in I don't know how long, had the house completly to myself. I stopped in to see Dad on my way home last night with gifts of coffee (tea for him), and an apple fritter for him. I am still trying to convince him to let me drive the Zamboni, but it is becoming a losing battle. I got home around 12:30 PM, and cleaned the house until 2. The caffeine from the midnight coffee made the cleaning possible. I also struck gold at a dollar store that is closing. I bought all the party paraphonalia for Colby's birthday, in The Cat in the Hat. Hats, balloons, party bags, crap to fill the party bags, table covers, and loads of other stuff. Considering the amount of people that I am inviting, (15 kids with parents), this was a great deal for me. (I have rented the "Beaver Bank Community Hall", and to those who know Beaver Bank, the "Brown Hall" at the top of Woodbine. My thought on this was parking. The park that I live in has narrow roads, and there just won't be enough parking.) The store is closing and everything is 50% off. Not bad for a dollar store! Mom bought 5 christmas gifts for people she worked with, and between her and I we filled 2 stockings for the brat and Anthony! We looked for yard sales, but I think yard sale season is almost offically over. We are going to a dinner theatre tonight, put on by Rob's mom's church. It should be a great time. And as an afterthought to the comment left by "Anonymous", who is the proud owner of the legs I hope Genevieve's baby does NOT get, I don't know who "Bobby" is. Last time I looked, my husband's name is ROB. You've known him for the better part of 8 years, you would think you would know his name by now! Short memories must be a side effect of having chicken legs. MISS ME ADAM?!.

Great news!

I just found out that one of my closest friends, Genevieve, is expecting. I am soo happy for them. They, like us, did not have an easy time with this. I know exactly what she is feeling, after waiting and trying for so long to conceive. I just hope that baby gets Genevieve's legs and not Adam's!

Mommy, your car is a piece of crap!

Finally, a moment to update. I just finished mopping the floors (what fun) and while it's drying I thought I would share the last couple of days. I booked the church for Kelly and BJ for July 30th, 2005. When I was talking to the church secretary, she asked me, "For 2 or 4?" Puzzled, I replied, "well, 2 of course". Then she proceeded to tell me that they don't recommend 2 becuase of receptions, and would really prefer 4. After a moment of silence, I replied, "well, there is only 2 of them getting married!". The spontanous burst of laughter on the other end made me realize she was talking about 2PM or 4PM, not 2 or 4 people. Needless to say, 2 people are getting married at 4pm. Secondly, Rob and I decided to swap cars on Friday since he was off and my car needed gas. I get a text message at work around 4 pm stating, "Your Fxxx car died". You have to understand, when I first bought my car, we had a real issue with the car shutting off. I was extremly puzzled and asked him if he put gas in it. He replied he didn't, but there was still lots of gas left. Well, on my home from work I put gas in the car, and it started up first try. Rob still believes that there may be a problem, but between you and I, I think the problem was lack of fuel. The only reason I am sharing this story, is of course Rob had Colby with him, and when the car died, he stated in frusteration "This car is a piece of crap". Well, you can just guess what Colby says everytime he now sees my car. "Mommy, your car is a piece of crap". Out of the mouth of babes. I also bought him "Love you Forever" by Robert Munsch, as he is really into reading. Well, if anyone who has a little boy has ever read this book, it is a real tear jerker. I only made it halfway through the book and started bawling! Poor Colby didn't know what to do. Now, whenever he brings me that book, I tell him I can't read that one and we read something else. If you haven't read it, I would suggest reading it, if you can get through it. I also just finished reading "The DiVinci Code", by someone or another ( don't remember the author). Kelly loaned it to me when I was in Amherst, and what a FABULOUS book! I highly recommend it to anyone. I read it in about 4 days. There is now a line up of people that want to read it! Floor is now dry, off for a swim before work!

Colby and I spent the weekend in Amherst with BJ and Kelly. Colby had a blast. He was most impressed with the hardwood floors, because he kept trying to skate and would fall flat on his ass! They have a beautiful apartment. The outside is not very astethically pleasing, but the inside makes up for it. When you first walk in it, it smells like a museum. All that is missing is the red velvet ropes. So Rob has been transferred. He will be going to Winners in Bayer's Lake. We're unsure as to exactly when, but it will be a good change for him. It's more adminstrative in nature. He's excited. They keep changing the date of when he's going. I took pictures in Amherst. I have to finish the roll off and then I'll get them developed and posted!

Off to Amherst!

Well, my new schedule at work is in place. I am now off at a reasonable time and am home before midnight! Yeah for me! Now, the trick is to get to bed and sleep before 3. Had a hard time last night. Even though I was home by 11:30, I still was up until almost 2. Luckily for me Colby slept until 9:30! Lindsay and Cody came for a visit today. Well, it worked out that Cody came to visit me and Lindsay came to visit Colby! They were off playing chase and reading books, and I got to play with the baby and feed him. Yes, a little bit of the "baby bug" bit me, but it's over now! Colby and I are going to Amherst this weekend to visit B.J and Kelly. Weather depending, I am going to take Colby to the Magnetic Hill Zoo, and maybe I'll be able to convince Uncle B to spend some quality time with his nephew and Kelly and I will go shopping in Moncton! We'll see what happens. Colby now knows all the words to Uncle Kracker's "Rescue" and loves to sing it in the car. He is just too funny. I am having a problem getting him to eat. The little bugger just won't eat. I don't know what to do. He at breakfast, somewhat, a piece of toast with PB, and then wouldn't eat any lunch, and when we went to Costco with Don and Jean today he stated that he was hungry, and ate a full 1/4 lb hot dog and fries, and then nothing until I convinced him to eat a yogurt before bed. I hate it when he doesn't eat, but this is normal, right?
