Something to think about

Here are a few things to think about that you probably have never thought about.

Can you cry under water?

How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

Why do you have to "put your two cents in".. . but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?

Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

What disease did cured ham actually have?

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up every two hours?

If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?

Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you> naked anyway.

Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural

Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?

Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane?

If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat?

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs!

If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables what is baby oil made from?

Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

I didn't see it until this picture

Everyone says that Joey looks like my dad, and I didn't see it until I found this picture last night. Right down to the curl in the front of his head. My Aunt Rosemary said to me when saw a recent picture of Joey "It looks like Brian Power s**t that youngster out!" Now I understand why.

No baby yet

Kelly spent the day in the hospital yesterday and her labor never progressed. They gave her the option this morning of staying in the hospital to "see if it progresses", or to go home and see what happens. They have been in the hospital since Sunday night, and spent most of the day yesterday just waiting to see if anything happens. They are heading home for the day, and hopefully her labor will start up again and she'll be back in the hospital tonight. My heart goes out to them, as I know what they're going through and the frusteration she is feeling. There's nothing worse than thinking that this is the end and the baby is finally coming, to find out that the baby is not ready and they won't induce you. It's enough to drive you foolish.

SHE'S IN LABOR!

Kelly called me last night around 10 to let me know that she had called BJ and she's on her way to the Grace Maternity as her contractions (she commented on having contractions when she was here yesterday doing photos but laughed them off as she has been having them a lot lately) and at 10PM last night they were 5 minutes apart and getting stronger. I had an update at 1AM by her mom advising me that she was in fact still at the hospital and dilated to 2-3cm. WOO HOO! Kelly called me this morning at 7 to let me know that not much has changed, they gave her some pain medication at 3 to help her sleep and she was waiting for someone to come check her again. So, hopefully we'll have a baby today that my cousin Kelly who's here visiting from Newfoundland (pics to come) will get to see him before she goes back!

First maternity photo session

I used Kelly as my test today, since she's the only one I know who is very pregnant at the moment. And, I can say that I took the first pictures of my nephew! You can see more on my OMG Photography site. If you click on the picture it will take you to the OMG Photography site.

I bought and drank this just for you.

Joey's 2nd portrait

I really need to stop zooming in soo close on Joey's face when I take his picture! This is what he really looks like! Couldn't you just eat him?????

Girls Weekend away

5 of us girls went away Saturday night for our bi-annual Girls Weekend Away. It was never meant to be bi-annual, the first one being 2 years ago, but last year was a bit crazy with my brother getting married and me getting pregnant, along with many other factors, that it just didn't happen. We went to Roselawn Cottages in Wolfville. It was nice, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (not as big as it sounded). We went adventuring to a place called the Lookoff, which was amazing. We went to dinner at a local pub, where I had the biggest plate of natchos ever. They had a sampler of their beers, which of course we ordered. I have developed a new love of Blueberry Beer. There were many laughs, many many Brown Cows, strawberry daquaries, crown royal, blueberry wine, and, a first for me, tequila shots. I managed to do a 1/2 shot, and that was more than enough for me. I also had my first taste of a Cigarello (sp), one being strawberry flavored and one being Vanilla. No, I don't smoke, don't intend to, but these were an experience.

We couldn't resist this sign

More pictures!

Joey and Summer

I'm soo proud! I taught him this

Does anyone recognize that eyebrow?

Moments that make me proud to the the mom of a boy

AS QUOTED TO ME BY COLBY 2 DAYS AGO

Colby: "Mommy, all the girls in my class have nipples".

ME: (as I drop what I'm doing and turn to look at him and try to remain calm and casual) "How do you know that honey"

Colby: "They don't have bumps under their shirt like you, so they must just have nipples".

Colby loves school

Going into school

waiting for the clock to read 8:50 so we could go Colby started pre-primary last Thursday. He absoutely loves it. If he could have literally pushed out out the door when we dropped him off he would have. He takes butter sandwiches to school with apple juice for lunch. For all who know Colby, he is a very picky eater. So far, in just 3 days of being there, he has tried banana (which he didn't like), orange juice (which he did like) and Teddy Grahams. I have been trying to introduce Colby to eating fruit for as long as I can remember but he just won't eat it. I am extremly proud of him for trying these foods already, as when he was in nursery school he wouldn't try it at all. We took Joey to his 4 month appointment this morning. He is 17.8lbs. He was 4 months yesterday. Kelly had a baby shower on Sunday at her friend Julie's house. It was a blast. She recieved many beautiful gifts, and not too much Winnie the Pooh! (For all who know me, I am ANTI Winnie the Pooh).

Looking for a little help

I have pictures from today, which was Colby's first day of school which I will post later tonight when the boys are in bed. As I often do, I surf certain blogs many times a day, Jody's, Dawn's, Tawny's, Rob's and of course Valentina's. I notice on every blog there is a picture, but mine no longer works. I don't have a website to upload it to, and everytime I try to use the one that the picture was originally on it doesn't allow me to. So my question is this. Will someone help me upload a new picture to my blog so when I leave comments it actually has a picture, instead of my name and an X in the box?

Another first

We moved Joey out of the infant carseat yesterday and into the next stage one. It's still reversed, but his feet were on the back of the seat in the infant one. I've got to check to see how much he has to weigh before I can turn the seat around. He also rolled over tonight for the first time. He panicked when he ended up on his belly and couldn't get back. I can't believe how fast he's growing!

We also took the boys to a playground tonight. Colby loves it. He's starting school on Thursday. I can't believe it!

My beautiful crazy sister

Kassie decided that she was going to do dance while I was taking pictures. This is 1 of about 20 pictures I took within a 2 minute span. They're hilarious.

I took over 100 pictures today of Kassie, some of them with the boys but most of her. This is by far my favorite of all of them.
