Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong?

I was surfing around Sears website (my new favorite site) and found these. "My first Treadmill" and "My first Airwalker". BTW, there is also "My first stationary bike" but I didn't copy that picture. In my house, my children get exercise by GOING OUTSIDE. Guess I'm just one of the weird parents.

Pictures from yesterday

Our first housewarming gift. Jen sent this from Nunavut. The card is one of hers and the picture is a piece of artwork made by an Invuk lady in Cape Dorset, NU.

I had to take a picture of this. Rob hired a couple of local kids to finish cutting down the long grass in the backyard. I noticed something sticking up when they were done, and this is what I found. The grass was so long it hid the frame of a bike!

Finally. We have something that resembles a backyard! All we need now is to finish the cutting with the ride on and build a beach rock firepit! I smell the S'mores already!

Landscaping continues

He switched to the store's ride on for a while but then had to resort back to "old faithful".

This is just freaky. I was taking a picture to show what has been done so far and guess I got a little more. I figured there were things living in that tall grass but the "spirits" of things? Guess a call to Ghostbusters will be next!

Grass, grass and more grass. We figure in the 2-3 years the house has been here no one has looked after the yards.

Well, maybe that's a little extreme but he definately would be in her "bad books", pardon the pun. This is what happens when I think Joey is playing in his room, when he in fact is "reading" our Terry Goodkind books. Looks like I'm off to Ebay to replace some books!

Odds and ends pictures

Landscaping begins. This is the view from our backyard, and you can see by what Rob has managed to cut it is VERY overgrown. Our goal is to get it all cut down and build a firepit. We already have the beach rocks. I also want to set the tent up in the backyard for the kids to play in. For those of you who think Joey is always smiling and laughing, here is the TRUE Joey. This is what we call "Joey the Dragon". This is what happens when you wake him from his nap and then speak to him. A glimpse of our livingroom. It's EXACTLY like the house we had in Rae. We still don't have anything on the walls yet. We had some of our favorite pictures enlarged and are waiting to get them back. Notice my children. Neither of them are watching the TV. Joey is watching Colby's portable DVD player and Colby is playing Gameboy. Care package from Nanny!

Blogger issues

I had an issue logging into my blog tonight and I figured out the problem. If your blog doesn't open, it's because of your site meter. There must be an issue with site meter because all of the blogs I tried to open with this on it wouldn't work. I had a 10 second panic not being able to log into my blog, which gave me a good kick in the butt to start backing up my blog! All I did to fix it was log into blogger manually and deleted my site meter. You're welcome. :)

This was at 36 weeks. There is one other picture we took the night before we had Joe but I didn't blog that one and since I don't have a scanner this will have to do. I'll find the disc of wedding pics and post some of those later! :)

Clarification

Just for the record, I did not take the lightning shots. I was in the livingroom playing with Joey, who was scared poop-less. All those shots (2 memory cards worth) were taken by Rob. Joe and I had a front row seat in the livingroom watching it. The storm was amazing. We also took a video of the clouds before the storm started. They were actually swirling around, and with the reports of twisters touching down in Saskatchewan over the past few weeks I was certain we were going to have one. But we didn't. I'm hoping to get that video uploaded today.

Northern Lightsning

I think we are going to like it here. We get the Northern Lights during the Winter and we get awesome thunder and lightning storms during the summer. This is what you get when you fill 2 1gig compact flash cards. I took these from the front steps of the house. The storm was awesome and lasted almost 2 hours. I have never seen so much forked lightning in my life!

Happy Anniversary BJ and Kelly

I can't believe it has been 3 years since these 2 crazy kids got married, and Kelly became "the new" Kelly Power. Happy Anniversary guys, wish we were there.

Diaster DIY

My new favorite show, and the only reason I would want to live in Ontario (that is where this show is filmed). It's on HGTV, which is not a channel I normally watch, but stumbled upon this show late one night. If we lived in Ontario, I would SO trash my kitchen and blame Rob just to bring him there!

Shooting the 9mm

Tina and I have met some really cool people since we came to Ile a la Crosse. I have finally made some good connections here in town for a hunting and fishing buddy, unfortunately they are leaving here in August. We decided to take the boys out today and fling some arrows and shoot the 9mm. I was in the Military for a while and never had the opportunity to fire a handgun. It was quite a lot of fun. I didn't do too bad. Here are some pics. Unfortunately my battery died in the camera and I was unable to get pics of the kids shooting the Bow.

I think that this is ALL Barry's Fault! There will be more. Tina is looking forward to getting her own at some point. I know that Joey will be into it when he gets older if Colby is still into Archery. Thanks Barry!
