Ebay...

Has anyone set up an ebay seller account? What is involved and what is your opinion on selling things on ebay? Tina and I are looking into it and we are looking for help. Thanks

I've sold on ebay twice. I found that canada post's shipping cost was astronomically high. To ship a DVD in a bubble wrap envelop costs between $7-$10 depending on the destination. To have the shipping and handling paid by buyer makes you rather non-competitive in that market. I took a loss on both sales.

The Canada Post mailing costs are prohibitive for the American buyers, with the Canadian dollar up the profit margin for the canadian seller has shrunk considerably, eBay's selling rules have really changed in the past five years, they charge you for every word, every picture, length of transaction, a % of what you make on the sale.............go for it. it will be a learning experience
