On the road again

So... can anyone tell me anything about what it will be like to live in Hay River? Can I still do guarding shifts at the RCMP there??

Yep, found out yesterday and details are still being finalized. Looks like we won't be here for Easter.

Wow. I assume you're going for a new job. Can you provide details?

Hay River's a beautiful place, especially in summer. It smells like living plants.

It is not MY store. I am going there to train. I would like something a little more remote. We will be there for a couple of months until I finish my training.

Wow you guys have to pick up and move quickly! Whereabout is Hay River (remember I have my momma's sense of direction and she can't point to sackville when she's in her house). Hope the move goes well!

Hay River has some wonderful acticites for families. It is a small (apprx. 3000) town with a northern Alberta feel. There is a great swimming pool, museum, library, movie theatre, several restaurants (and bars) hairdressers, flower shop, a Fields, two banks, and an assortment of other small local businesses. One place to go is the Woodshed. Wonderful store/greenhouse/coffee shop. You will love it. Also the library and pool have many children focussed activities. In the summer there is a farmer's market down in old town, called the Fisherman's wharf and it is a favourite spot for Saturday morning breaskfasts and shopping for local products. There is also a fall fair sometime in early September, an annual winter carnival, usally the first weekend in March.

Have fun, see ya when you get here
